In most cases, your power bill was not paid through PowerPay (Beta) Program because the submission was incomplete, submitted too late, or did not meet the program’s documentation and timing requirements.
Key Requirements for Successful Processing
To successfully process your electricity bill with PowerPay, you must complete all of the following steps a minimum of 14 days in advance of your power bill due date:
- Provide all necessary account information Submit complete and accurate utility account details (account number, zip code, and any other information required by your power provider for a third-party/guest payment).
- Upload a valid current power bill statement You must upload the full current power bill statement (PDF or clear image). Expired or past-due power bill statements do not qualify for the PowerPay program.
- Submit the PowerPay Form Fully complete and submit the PowerPay payment form with all required fields.
- Send the Payment and Provide the Transaction Hash Send the exact amount of tokens for your intended payment (up to your PowerPay NFT tier’s maximum) and provide the correct blockchain transaction hash for verification.
All steps must be completed at least 14 days before the due date. Submissions made fewer than 14 days prior, or those using expired/past-due bills, will not be processed.
Common Reasons Your Bill Was Not Paid
- The submission was made less than 14 days before the due date.
- An expired or past-due power bill statement was uploaded (only current bills qualify).
- Required account information was missing, incomplete, or incorrect.
- The full current power bill statement was not uploaded (or only a partial bill/screenshot was provided).
- Approved PowerPay (Beta) Program payment was not sent, the transaction failed, or was not confirmed on the blockchain.
- The correct transaction hash was not provided or was entered incorrectly.
- The PowerPay form was not fully submitted or contained errors.
- The payment amount sent did not match the bill amount.
- PowerPay (Beta) Program delays, errors, failed payments, non-processing by utilities, technical issues, and unexpected program changes may have occurred.
In these situations, there is no valid record of a complete, timely, and verifiable payment, so your utility bill cannot be processed through PowerPay.
What Should I Do Now?
- Check your wallet transaction history to confirm the correct payment was sent and copy the correct transaction hash.
- Review your PowerPay submission history to verify that all account information, the current bill statement, the form, and the transaction hash were properly submitted.
- For future bills, make sure to:
- Use only your current power bill statement (not expired or past-due)
- Provide all necessary account information
- Upload the full current bill
- Fully complete the PowerPay form
- Send the correct payment amount
- Provide the accurate transaction hash
- Complete the entire process at least 14 days before the due date
Note: PowerPay is currently in beta testing, which means occasional delays or processing issues can occur.
