A Smart Node requires resources in order to run the software properly. Knowing the hardware requirements needed to run a Smart Node is important to make sure it can provide resources to the green Blockchain and to ensure the node operator is able to get credit in the Distribution.
Assumptions Made
This article assumes the reader understands the information in the following articles:
A Smart Node supports Mac and Linux (64-bit required). These are the current resources required for running a Smart Node:
4 GB RAM
2 CPU Cores
60 GB Disk Space
These requirements are subject to change. There may be additional requirements in terms of computational capacity and speed placed on nodes in the future. Lighter nodes will likely still function, but they will be given rewards in proportion to their contribution to the network. More information will be released on this when it is available.
