What is a Smart Node?

Green Smart Nodes are the backbone of the Green Ecosystem. 

Smart Nodes are high-value options for committed supporters. Offering 100 times the amount of daily rewards compared to Lite Nodes, they provide significant value for their price. There is a total supply of 100,000 Smart Nodes available for purchase, each providing one vote when a proposal is active.

Green Node software creates a decentralized network running on compatible devices. There will only ever be 100,000 of these smart nodes.

Everyone who operates a Smart Node is contributing to the growth of this decentralized community. 

Green Nodes support the Green blockchain. They will be independently confirming transactions, securing data, and providing a decentralized network using advanced blockchain cryptography.

Green Node includes a powerful and intuitive interface that allows you to monitor your nodes' performance actively and track the rewards you earn daily.

Green Node operators may be eligible to receive GREEN rewards, a digital reward for supporting the project and providing unused computational power on their personal computer or device.

Is all of this information permanent, or is it subject to change?

All of this information is subject to change.  Those questions with answers that are most likely to change will be marked with an asterisk (*). One type of change that can occur comes as a result of the consensus vote, which node owners have the power to make.  It is one of the most powerful benefits of being a node operator.

What Operating Systems are Smart Nodes currently compatible with?

Smart Nodes are currently compatible with macOS 10.10 (Yosemite) and higher, and Ubuntu Linux 20.04.

Am I making an investment in Green when I buy and run a Smart Node?

The Green Blockchain is not an investment of any kind. Any person may participate in the Green Blockchain with a compatible internet device and software to utilize the decentralized blockchain protocol.

What is the difference between Green and GREEN?

Green is the blockchain and GREEN is a digital reward for operating a Green node in the form of an ERC-20 digital asset.

What is green distribution and what happens when it’s complete?*

Green Node operators are eligible to receive GREEN rewards, a digital reward for supporting the project and providing unused computational power on their personal computer or device. GREEN is distributed to Smart Nodes that have operated for at least the required time in each cycle.

What kind of work will I be providing by running a Smart Node?*

There will be a “see-saw” algorithm that will determine which resources are most needed by the network.  For example, if the network has tons of storage but very little processing power, then it will give higher rewards for processing than storage; this would incentivize additional processing suppliers.  In short, the network will adapt to its needs.

Will there be more nodes in the future?

There will only ever be 100,000 Smart Nodes; in the future, there will be other types of nodes that exist to support the network.
