Welcome to the Stand With Green FAQ! Whether you're just discovering the mission or you're ready to make your first offering, this guide walks you through what Stand With Green is, where your support goes, and what each offering includes. Below, you'll find everything you need to know before you decide how — or whether — to stand with Green this month.
What is Stand With Green?
Stand With Green is a monthly community initiative where supporters cover Green's operational bill together. It's not charity, and it isn't an investment — it's participation. Every supporter who purchases one of the three offerings gets their name on the Believers Board for the month, alongside everyone else who showed up.
100% of every purchase goes toward Green's monthly operational costs: the blockchain, the servers, the support team and engineers, security, and the tools that keep the community aligned.
What is Green, exactly?
Green is a community-governed energy brand — no executives, no shareholders, no salaries. The mission is to build the largest public decentralized power grid in the world, using community-owned nodes and blockchain technology to shift control away from centralized utility monopolies and expand access to reliable, renewable power.
Who's actually in charge of Green?
Nobody — that's the point. Following the 2023 ratification of the DGF Charter and Node Network Charter, governing authority sits with Green Node Owners under a Distributed Governance Framework. Green United, LLC (which kicked off the project back in 2018) no longer oversees governance.
Why does Green say energy access matters so much?
Access to reliable energy is closely tied to lifting people out of poverty — clean water, refrigeration, vaccine storage, and classrooms all depend on it. Roughly 7.5 billion people (about 92% of humanity) currently have electricity access, while an estimated 670 million people worldwide still don't (IEA / World Bank SDG 7 data, 2023).
Energy poverty isn't just a global issue, either — MIT research defines a household as energy-poor once more than 6% of its income goes to energy bills, a line millions of U.S. households have already crossed.
What problem is Green trying to fix?
For over a century, a small number of centralized utilities have controlled energy production, distribution, and data. That's meant higher prices, limited competition, heavy reliance on fossil fuels, and systems that are slow to adapt. Rising demand from AI data centers, costly grid upgrades, and geopolitical fuel disruptions are pushing prices up further — U.S. electricity costs are cited as having risen 42% since 2019, compared to 29% general inflation.
Green's approach: a distributed network of independent operators running Green Smart Nodes, supporting the network, and earning GREEN digital rewards — no specialized hardware required.
Where can I see how this month's goal is going?
Right on the Stand With Green page. You'll see the current amount raised against the monthly operational goal, how many days are left in the month, and how many supporters have already stood with Green — updated live.
What are the four funding stages, and why do they matter?
Green's operations are funded in four stages, and every purchase fills whichever stage is currently open:
- 01 · Activation — $50K/month
- 02 · Growth — $50K/month
- 03 · Markets — $100K/month
- 04 · Trading Support — $1M/block
Once a stage is fully funded, the next one opens. These aren't arbitrary fundraising targets — they represent the actual operating bill, and it comes due again on the 1st of every month.
What happens if the monthly bill isn't fully covered?
- Day 20 of the prior month: If the upcoming month's costs aren't paid, a late notice goes to brand leadership and the community council, requesting payment or help.
- Day 20 of the second month: If costs are still outstanding, a disconnect notice goes out to brand leadership, the community council, and the entire community. Trading support, Foundations support, legal, and the Connect shopping cart go offline. Distribution stays active, but foundational and market support stop.
Note: Reactivating the full stack after a disconnect requires six months of operational costs paid upfront. Distribution keeps running the whole time — foundational and market services resume as soon as payment is made.
What are the three ways to stand with Green?
You'll be asked three simple yes-or-no questions — one per offering — and either answer moves you forward. Every "yes" moves the mission forward too. 100% of each purchase goes to Green's monthly operational costs.
👉 Founders Block NFT — $5,000 (USDT, USDC, or ETH) Only 200 blocks are issued per month. Each block delivers a fixed quantity of reward tokens across the top 5 trading blockchains on the Foundations layer (valued at $10,000 per chain at issuance, $50,000 total) — you receive the tokens themselves, not cash, and values fluctuate. Tokens are delivered upfront and staked in the NFT for one year, unlocking after 52 weeks.
Also included:
- A BlockBot ($2,500 retail value)
- Your name on the Stand With Green leaderboard
- A seat on the weekly Top 100 call
- Admission to the next Sundance Summit and Hawaii Retreat (admission only — travel and lodging aren't included)
- Admission to the weekly founders calls
- Featured placement on the Green website as a founder
- A hand in guiding and leading the Green blockchain
Note: This program is in beta. Reward tokens are utility only — no investment return is offered or implied.
👉 Green Boost Node — 500–2,000 (USDT, USDC, or ETH) Pairs with a Green SmartNode you already own to multiply that node's Action Points by 1× (Good, $500), 2× (Better, $1,000), or 4× (Best, $2,000) for a full 12 months. The rule is simple: one Boost Node per SmartNode. Own two SmartNodes, run two Boost Nodes.
Note: Utility only — no investment return is offered or implied.
👉 PowerPay NFT — 100–1,000 (USDT, USDC, or ETH) Turns a bill you were already going to pay into GREEN rewards through the PowerPay platform. Four tiers, each a 1-year term:
- 10% PowerPay NFT — $100 · max supply 10,000
- 25% PowerPay NFT — $250 · max supply 5,000
- 50% PowerPay NFT — $500 · max supply 5,000
- Full PowerPay NFT — $1,000 · max supply 1,000
Note: This program is in beta. Utility only — no investment return is offered or implied. See the PowerPay terms and conditions for full details.
Do I have to say yes to all three offerings?
No. Each one is its own independent choice. Saying "no thanks" to an offering doesn't stop you from moving on to the next — and your supporter card completes either way.
What's the Believers Board?
The Believers Board is a public, monthly record of everyone who's stood with Green — not a wealth ranking, but a living list of the people carrying the mission's operational costs.
- Verified means you've purchased at least one of the three offerings during the current month.
- Streak counts how many consecutive months you've been verified.
What shows up on my supporter card?
Your name or a nickname, your country, and a photo or an avatar — all customizable anytime from your profile settings. It's a live preview as you build it; once you're verified, it goes live on the public leaderboard.
Is this an investment?
No. Stand With Green is described explicitly as participation — not charity, and not an investment. Across all three offerings, reward tokens are utility only, with no investment return offered or implied.
Is PowerPay fully live yet?
Not yet — PowerPay is currently in beta and continues to evolve, per Green's own program disclosures.
Are Green's future plans guaranteed?
No. Green notes that statements about future development are aspirational, and encourages everyone to do their own research. Green Nodes and the Green Blockchain operate under a Distributed Governance Framework, which can continue to shape how the network evolves.
What's Stand With Green's organizational status?
Stand With Green is a not-for-profit initiative of the Green Community — powered by the people who choose to participate each month.
