Nodes such as a Green Smart Node or a Green Node are the backbone of the Green ecosystem. They contribute computational power and storage to support the Green Blockchain. When a node performs actions, it is given a GREEN reward to the node owner. This is called a distribution. Distributions are anticipated to occur daily but may be paused periodically due to software updates. Users running the Green Node or Green Smart Node software with a valid license for the required time (6 hours) will find their rewards in the Vault located in the Green App. These rewards do not exist on a blockchain when they are in the Vault. Therefore, minting these rewards requires writing and recording to the blockchain. This will require the user to pay the associated Ethereum “gas fees” to mint them into his/her Inventory within the Green website. In order to sell or transfer your Green, you must first mint them into your Green App Inventory.
This “mint-on-demand” model enhances the decentralized nature of the network as it does not depend on any single entity to provide ETH gas fees for the whole network.
The current distribution system is calculated based on the actions each node takes during a given distribution cycle in order to qualify for distributions during that cycle. The minimum requirement is that the node must be powered on, run on a valid operating system, have a valid license assigned, and run for 6 hours. The total number of nodes that qualify all share the total supply of Green distributed to users each day.
